Watch Andrei Tarkovsky’s “Stalker” (1979) Movie Online
Further to my post of yesterday about the Russian science fiction book “A Roadside Picnic” by brothers Arkady & Boris Strugatsky, and the forthcoming John Travolta movie that is being made of it, synchronicity seems to be playing it’s part once again. I discovered this today while looking for something entirely different.
Andrei Tarkovsky’s haunting version of the story “Stalker” is available on Google video – Russian language with English subtitles. Don’t know if copyright is entirely undubious on it, but watch this and read the story, but not necessarily in that order.

really good cinematography. i like the really wide shots that seem to zoom in forever. but its a fairly fucked up film
Thanks, i really enjoyed Stalker, a lot. Now i have to find a copy of it on dvd, and try to find a copy of A Roadsie Picnic. Thanks very much again.

that was incredible! so bleak! It just goes to show that millions of dollars dont have to be used to make something extraordinary! Tarkovskys a god!

It is a very good movie but it is too long like his other films .
Why is dandruff falling all over the screen? I loved this book and first time seeing the film. I still like it even with the dandruff.
