Slide Show Photo Frame

Slideshow Photo Frame

Lag Free Slideshow Photo Frame
————————————-
Perfect for galleries, shops and home decor, the Slideshow photo frame is Copy and Mod, so you can fill a whole gallery with them.

This slideshow preloads pictures to avoid the grey goo screen and blurry pictures that inevitably arise with lag.
It can also be easily configured to show pictures in Landscape, Portrait or Square format.
Easy to use – Just drag and drop your own pictures into the slideshow’s inventory.
You can adjust the length of time each picture is displayed.
You can aslo configure it to hand out a notecard, texture, landmark and freebie object to your visitors/viewers.
It uses simple chat commands to adjust settings
It is MOD and COPY but not transfer.

Using Chat Commands
——————————
To keep lag to a minimum, and to enable you set up more than one slideshow in a small space without cross talk, chat commands can only be used when a slideshow is in PAUSED MODE.

To prevent other people changing your settings, chat commands are owner only – visitors can only pause and unpause the slideshow.

Left click the slideshow to put it into paused mode.
It will then say “Pausing – One Moment.” and a few seconds later will say “SlideShow Paused”.
You can now issue chat commands.
The slideshow will revert back to slideshow mode after two minutes to keep down lag.

The chat commands are issued on CHANNEL 7.
E.g. /7 next

Chat commands are case insensitive so /7 NEXT or /7 next will both work.

Formatting The Physical Slideshow
——————————————–
The first thing you’ll want to do is format the slideshow to fit your pictures.
The formats available are Landscape (4 wide by 3 high), Portrait (3 wide by 4 high), or Square.
Use these chat commands…..
/7 Landscape
/7 Portrait
/7 Square

If you want a bigger or smaller slideshow, you can resize the slideshow using the edit tools, but be aware that you shouldn’t use the format commands after doing this as it will throw the proportions out.

Adding Your Pictures
——————————
The next step is adding your pictures.

Adding your pictures to the slideshow is easy – right click on the slideshow and select edit.
In the edit box, make sure that MORE is selected, and click the CONTENT tab.

You’ll see two scripts, one called “Click Detector” and one called “Photo Slideshow”. Don’t delete these!!
You’ll also see the default pics that come with the slideshow.
You can delete the default pics by right clicking on them and selecting delete.
You can now drag and drop your own pics from your inventory into the object’s inventory.

You should make sure that all the pics you put into the slideshow inventory are the same format/proportions – landscape, portrait or square – though they don’t all have to be the same size.

The Info Button
———————–
You’ll see the red Info button at the top of the slideshow.
The Info button can be shown or hidden using these chat commands (still in paused mode)….
/7 Show
/7 Hide

Clicking the info button will deliver a notecard, a texture, an object or a landmark, or any combination of these.
You can add your own notecard, landmark, texture and object.

Right click on the slideshow and select Edit. Make sure the Edit Linked Parts checkbox is selected.
Now click on the info button and click the contents tab in the edit window.

You’ll a script called “Hide Button” “. Don’t delete this!!
You’ll also see the default items that come with the slideshow.
You can delete the default items by right clicking on them and selecting delete.
You can now drag and drop your own items from your inventory into the object’s inventory.
Only ONE landmark, notecard, texture and object please.
If it finds more than notecard (for instance) it’ll hand out the first one in alphabetical order, and the second will be ignored.

TheSlide Show Controls
——————————-

You can control the slideshow using chat commands – again, make sure you are in paused mode first.

The slideshow fades to black between pictures, and preloads pictures in order to avoid the grey goo screen or half loaded blurry pictures. If you find this is happening then increase the display time.

You can control the length of time that each picture is displayed using these commands….
/7 Fastest ….about 10 seconds from fade in to fade out
/7 Faster
/7 Fast
/7 Medium
7/ Slow
/7 Slower
/7 Slowest ….about 90 seconds

Note that longer display times also have longer times when faded to black – set to longer times if in a heavily lagged area and the pictures are still coming through blurred.

Also while still in paused mode you can change the picture using these commands….
/7 Next
/7 Prev

Restarting The Slideshow
———————————
Once you’ve made your adjustments, you can restart the slideshow by left clicking it.

Hovertext Titling
————————-
The hovertext will display the name of the picture currently being displayed.
By default hovertext is switched on.
You can change this using the following commands (in paused mode)….
/7 Off
/7 On

The Slideshow Frame
——————————-
You can change the color of the frame around the slideshow simply by left clicking it.
You don’t have to put the slideshow into paused mode either.
Clicking it will cycle it through all its colors.
You can even add your own textures into the frame, so if you want a wood or leopardskin frame – you can have it.
